What would a world be like without the French Revolution? Who would be the major players in the world?
It would be the exact same because fuck the French fuck them they're useless dumb frogs

France would still be an absolutist shithole. Lafayette should've been less of a fuck up and pushed harder.
Kind of depends on the quality of French kings, the French Revolution itself happened because of how weak Louis XVI was.
Assuming no fuckups of that sort, there's no reason France couldn't have maintained itself as the European hegemonic power for longer as it had been since the 1600s. Beyond that alt history is pretty pointless.

I think it might be fair to say that with no Napoleon, the revolutionary spirit in the nineteenth century probably would not have been so intense.

>What would a world be like without the French Revolution?
Better
>Who would be the major players in the world?
France because Germany probably wouldn't have been able to unite nearly as soon as it did if at all

And the nation-state with a constitution and democratic principles would not be the standard as it is today, so the world would most likely still be divided among feudal houses with huge social differences depending on birth.

>no revolution in france, no revolution anywhere ever
If you appreciate that the revolution had tangible causes, such as severe economic troubles, a rising literate bourgeoisie(who could articulate their persecutions, unlike 100 years earlier), poor leadership, etc. Why wouldn't the revolution just happen elsewhere?
Parliamentary response to democratic reform in the UK was driven by fear of another revolution happening in Britain, so perhaps with no revolution to fear you'd see a harsher response to democratic reform groups in Britain > revolution.

Do you think it would be harder for a revolution to gain ground in other parts of Europe because of the UK's relative isolation?

Honestly it's almost pointless talking about counterfactual history, and especially pointless on an imageboard because people tend to arrive at ready made conclusions rather than assess what else was going on.
To answer your question, I think revolutionary ideals would have spread from any single country in europe, but you were only going to see them initially appear(at least in the late 1790s/early 1800s) in western europe.
If you were going to roughly divide history into periods, most historians would chart modern history from the beginning of the french revolution, because it's a solid bit of evidence for a real change in the culture of european peoples. You're going to get the rise of ideology with or without the storming of the bastille, it was just a matter of when. The people in this thread saying we'd still have an absolutist France now are either memeing or idiots.

Off yourself.

Fair enough, that's probably the best answer I'll get here. Thanks.
