Hello /his/. For my birthday, I have decided the best present the imageboards could give me were maps. That's why I've started this thread right here, to dump maps and save those posted by other posters.
To start with, here's a map of Slovene dialects I translated myself.
I will shitpost some of the autism maps I have pieced together or made
>>937499
Thank you Slovenebro, this is an interesting look!
>>937568 was meant to show some of the terrain advantages different regions of europe had
pic related is my definition of the west
>>937568
Please do. I'll dump the rest of dialect maps, then language map and then everything else.
world map drawn from memory
map from some anime, don't know which
>>937576
Kek, this is less map autism and more map Down's syndrome.
>>937499
another anime map
this is what japan actually believes
last anime map
apparently the black ships and nukebombs had an effect on Japan's view of the rest of the world giving them a sense of being overwhelmed by forces beyond their control, yet their economic success after ww2 runs contrary to their predicted gloom, it seems to fit with the taoist principle of flowing like water rather than making futile attempts to control everything
>>937585
I drew it in about 10 seconds because I was bored
now china's climate, the northern plains were overrun by horse peoples at various points in history
they grew mainly wheat in the north and rice in the south, some suggest this is why the south is more collectivist
travel times
>>937583
That America is random. And I suppose that's a smaller Mu in the middle of the Pacific Ocean.
>>937588
I doubt that's an anime map.
>>937583
>it's not even mercator
>>937655
italy haplotypes
Why so much incest?
>>937690
I'd really like this done for Slovenia.
i find this picture cosy
how france genders countries
>>937695
Why such a small map?
>>937712
o, sry
>>937871
Thanks lol
>>937588
I see Azerbaijan flag.
>>937710
Dat Portubro.
>>938371
Oops, that was me.
>>938417
I'm pretty sure this is the only map where Slovenes are divided into three different "ethnicities".
I'll be going now and I'll probably come back pretty late, so someone take over until then. I still have a load of maps to dump.
neat thread
I'm back!! I've had a bit to drink to celebrate ( a few rums and a few whiskeys) and now I'm back!
>>938600
Thanks for the compliment and thanks for bumping the thread. This map's dedicated to you, friend!
Here's anotehr one. Hopefully someone bumps the thread a few times afteer I'm gone to bed so it survives until the morning.
Here's the last map for the night. It's another one of the ones I translated myself.
Someone hold the thread for me until the morning, please.

Slovenologist, is this true? That west of the river is central European? Is Zizek right for once?
>>941023
Good morning.
North to north-west, really, although I'm not sure about it being the "official" limit; here's a map that shows a different border: https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/b/b6/Balkan_topo_en.jpg.
The cultural border would be different, though.
>>937604
>East EU
>West EU
Did no one notice this?
>>942809
Well there's also the "Federal Republics of Soviet"
Here's my last post for a few hours. I'll be back before midnight (CET).
I'm a cartographer and this makes me fully erect
>>943373
Doing good work anon
Appreciate dem maps
>>943422
>Galicia
>>937588
This map triggers me a lot...
Nice, thanks to all of the posters who bumped the thread for me.
>>937699
Kajkavfags suck. They're basically another language and I absolutely hate it.
>>945920
Also, basically nobody in Sisak-Moslavina speaks kajkavian. We speak Štokavian.
>>945890
This one is a bit more accurate.
>>945943
>Venezuela is British Honduras instead of Belize
REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
>>945920
>they're basically another language
Hmmm, it sounds a lot like the Styrian on the other side of the border...
>>945960
Croats only understand each other in 30km radius. If I, from Sisak-Moslavina, try to speak with someone from Međimurska, I might as well speak in English.
>>945986
It's often the same here. Medmurje and Prekmurje are both seen as alien land, it seems. Do you call them Hungarians, too?
>>946012
HAHAHAHAHAHA
Sometimes yes, together with Podravinians and Banat-Bačka in Vojvodina.
Baranja doesn't even count. It is genuinely stolen chunk of Hungary.
>>946030
those old županijas
>>946041
Fuck županijas. Their only role is for bureaucrats gathering money and feeding their slimy rich kids who will suck foreign dick one day. We need to go back to Vojna krajina.
>>946066
>Vojna krajina
I prefer the civil Croats tbqh
>>937568
>western europe core doesn't have the Rhine down to frankfurt
>>946157
I like being a civilian too, but those sweet, sweet tax reliefs and cheap land are the real deal.
Also, imagine if Germans, Czechs, Italians and Hungarians started moving here again instead of Bosniaks and Gypsies.
Shit, I'm going to bed. Here's the last map (well this one isn't really a map, but it looks nice) for the night. I hope the thread lives through day 3.
"Slovenians" are actually eastern germanic.
>>948420
You mean like Goths? Swell.
There's just one problem; Slovene isn't a Germanic language.
>>948493
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gottscheers
>>948501
What exactly do German settlers have to do with Slovenes being a Germanic ethnicity? They only inhabited a small area, too.
>>937499
Here's a big, sexy map of the Austrian Empire
https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/b/be/Ethnographic_map_of_austrian_monarchy_czoernig_1855.jpg
And here's the full sized version since it's around 5x over the file size limit.
>>948740
>7.997 × 5.862
I like my maps to be 25.952 × 20.000 and 125,24 MB in size: https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Special-Karte_des_Herzogthums_Krain_1843.jpg?uselang=sl

Pozdrav iz glavnega mesta sodržavljan!
Pohvale za vse zemljevide.
Če pa se da, posti še kaj zemljevidov iz časa poznega Rima in preseljevanja ljudstev.
Zahvale vnaprej!
>>938564
My small village can be found on that old map.
Thanks bro
Reminder that every version of the Hungary map putting anything but Hungarians in Transylvania is full of shit
>>954480
Dobiš čez uro ali dve. Do takrat pa
>pic related
>>954487
Mine isn't.
No problem.
map made by me, based on wikipedia data about percentage of russian ethicity
>>954001
This map sucks. The entirety f the British Isles would have been Celtic at that time as well as most of Spain.
>>954480
>>943277
Hvala ti za odlične mape.
Zanima me če obstaja kakšna stran kjer bi bila te stara nemška imena prevedena v slovenščino. Neki kraji me pa res begajo in ne najdem "prevoda".
>>954597
Yeah, I don't know why they didn't colour all of their areas. And according to the map, Slavs are a celtic or Germanic tribe.
>>954827
Kateri kraji pa?
Unbelievable, the thread survived for five days, thanks to everyone who bumped it.
Have i got a site for you nerds.
http://www.lib.utexas.edu/maps/
I'll take thanks in bitcoins or blowjobs.
>>958840
Ah yes, the original European civilisation. I really wonder what the periodic settlement burning was all about.
Freshly translated map coming in.
And another one.
>>937604
>switzerland still independent
that's fucking awesome

>mfw my village is on all of these maps
>>959672
Yeah, these are pretty cool. My village is in all of them, too.
>>958948
> I really wonder what the periodic settlement burning was all about.
War?
>>959953
I read that it happened about every half a century and that it was done on purpose, not through warfare.
This is not really a "map" in the direct sense, but i like it a lot and will post it anyway.
>>937576
this is what I come here for
I never thought this thread would reach day six.
>>937499
There's more than one dialect of Slovenian? Huh, I thought all of Slovenian language fell under the "drunk Croatian" banner.
>>937499
When I find some more interesting maps for my collection you can expect a new thread to pop up. Otherwise, I'll post in other people's map threads.
