In this thread, we commemorate the suffering of those who endured oppressive dictatorships by naming such regimes.
As they say, people who don't remember their history are doomed to repeat it.
I'll start with one brutal regime that's not as known as other dictatorships, Anarchist Catalonia.

Thanks, another dictatorship I'll remind people of or make them find out, since probably there are people who didn't hear of it, Hoxha's regime in Albania.

Two more brutal regimes to remind people of, Salazar's dictatorship and the Paris Commune.

Of course, and there are people who unironically are in favor of such regime but engage in the privileges of a democratic society.

ballots are equally worthless now as they were then
people can publicly shittalk government now, but it makes as much difference as back then (None)

People now have a right to spend two decades of their life going to school only to get into lifetime debt and die on the street like a fucking dog, after their employer fired them for catching a flu, or "downscaling", because we're moving half of the company to China

As opposed to spending two decades in school for free to get a stable job in the field you studied and financial support for trying to live on your own and for starting a family, with no debt whatsoever, with your kids going to annual summer camps, being raised into good health and taught valuable virtues, and old people not having to work their hands to the bone well into their 60's.
Truly a horrific existence, glad it's Ogre.

Why the "fite me reddit" then? I thought Reddit would be against him, considering him "muh evil dictator".

Mate, you can have good working conditions, healthcare, education and housing without abolishing private property and turning the country into a Soviet regime. Think of Corporatism, doesn't sound like a bad ideology.

I don't want socialism back.
It was fun while it lasted, but it was bound to die sooner or later, if nothing else then because entire western world was actively opposed to it and choking it economically.
I would love a system with all the good things we had back then and none of the bad stuff, but that's utopia.

I agree with you.

The problem with business practices today is that it's demanded people get a degree instead of training for that specific job. Why is it required? Why can't an employer just put in some time and effort for their own employees instead of keeping a four year gate up, a gate that is bringing in the new generation under shackles of debt.

You can't improve the economy with education because institutional education is meant for learning, maturing, and expanding the view of a person. It's not a tool to make your employees better at their job. That's what training and trade schools are for.

The idea that you get a job as a result of going to college is deceptive, and at this point it only proves to build up requirements to make a livable wage.
