Romefag here, got a shit ton of books on ancient Rome, and loved "The History of Rome Podcast".
After I finished that I looked for more history podcasts, and have greatly enjoyed the "History of China Podcast". Now I am looking for good recommendations on ancient Chinese history books, preferably something more over-arching to begin before getting anything on specific dynasties or eras.

Cambridge Illustrated History of China is fantastic.

Its a proper book but there are a tonne of high quality pictures.
