How do you think Iraq could have won the first Gulf War? The Second?

Not fallen for American bribes.
Republican Guard was winning until America bribed those generals.
>>
The ancient gods destroy the coalition armies with lightning from the heavens
>>

This.
>>
>>920476
How were they winning though?
Because didn't they get their shit kicked by airstrikes during the first phase?
>>
If they used their WMDs
>>
>>920484
Well, before the initial invasion, the DoD was expecting 20-30,000 American causalities. Even some said there was a possibility the coalition would lose. Iraq had to have been doing something to make think that.

Saddam had bought a bunch of relatively new Russkie shit from the commies, which the Russians hyped to hell and back, and America was still rattled by Vietnam, so they massively overestimated how long it would take to defeat Iraq.
>>
>>920584
Iraqis can't defeat the laws of physics, mon ami.
>>
>>920585
So, Iraq was truly fucked?
>>
OP here
Better Question: Do you think Iraq could have beat Iran during The Iran-Iraq war?

Yes, they were well and truly fucked.
>>
>>920702
Not without some kind of internal collapse of the Iranians, and achieving that is out of the Iraqi grasp.
>>
>>920496
Airstrikes are not decisive in war. Serbia survived them.

Sebia is also not in an open desert facing the full conventional might of the the US. Stay in your lane, pal.

With proper screening and tactical training Iraq could and did withstand Airstrikes.
It was only when traitor El-Adar retreated due to insufficient belief in Baathist truths that the inept Amerifats succeeded.
>>
>>921939
Literally shut the fuck up.
The only way to fight the US is to engage in geurilla warfare, not to face them in conventional battle. The Vietnamese learned this the hard way.

Airstrikes can't dislodge embedded troops. Afghanistan was counted as lost until the Northern Allience/Tajik scum attacked the brave mujahideen from the north and moved them out of the blessed caves they hid in.
>Guerilla warfare

There is no such thing. There Is protracted warfare in which you build up your troops until you can reach a decisive point at which victory lies.

Well, in the initial deployment, I think the Airborne divisions had the ammo in their guns and a few trucks. Maybe if they had struck then?
>>
There was never a chance that Iraq could have won the Gulf War. They were still rebuilding themselves in the wake of the Iran-Iraq War and probably would have collapsed from an invasion from any decent 1st World Military Power, let alone the American Juggernaut.

>>920702

Keep US out of the war. Keep the Middle East divided on the question of Iran.
