It is not. It is a golden replica of his actual shield; the one he used against Hector, among other things.
I like the aesthetics of it, its design; there's really not much to say.
This replica was made in 1821 by an Englishman IIRC and it just brings it all to life in really majestic fashion.
Were I a billionaire I would give much for it.
