but seriously, the "ancient regimes" had to flock on top of each to be as tall as france during his reign and in the end they eventually won but once the average person took contact with the republican infection they could no longer go back - so you had the monarch "victors" literally validating the republican values that so many of their own died fighting
in the end, most of the coalition nations became republics and only the die hard english a few more like the spanish went to a full retard constitutional monarchy - which gave the monarchs what they wanted (to be filthy rich without working a single day in their lives) while not having to rule over a country with all the inherited responsabilities
