It's pretty simple. It's basically just Stallinism with a bit more emphasis on nationalism. It is basically Russians adopting real life communism/socialism instead of banker's daughter fantasy communism/socialism.

I thought it was a Otto/Gregor Strasser and Ernst Röhm thing that was later picked up by gay nazi musicians like Death In June and still has a small following all over Europe.
Extreme poverty and national humiliation breeds nationalism and revisionism. Thus, in a Russian context, you get people blindly wanting to make Russia a strong, militarily-powerful country (Nationalism) and looking to the past for times when the country was "great" (Bolshevism.) It's really not that hard.
