Is the Korean peninsula the perfect example of why communism is shit?
/his/ - /int/ without flags
It's a perfect example of why we should have sided with the Japanese in WW2 and dropped the nukes on those kimchi guzzling apes.
>North Korea
>communist
>>848257
achuly they are capitalist
>>848264
Academically speaking they're totalitarian, you /pol/ moron.
>>848257
>implement communism
>it fails spectacularly
>millions dead from starvation/political persecution
>"It's not true true communism guise!"
Do the world a favor and kill yourself commie
>>848195
They're closer aligned to a far right authoritarian.
>>848266
Totalitarianism is the natural step after communism.
Cuba is the closest thing to an example of communism. Cuba is admittedly not a great power, but you can't try to pin DPRK on communism. They're something else entirely now.
>>848290
>failed spectacularly
It didn't really 'fail spectacularly' until the fall of the USSR in the early 90s. And the society is not really Communist: even the N. Koreans have removed the word 'communism' and 'socialism' from all party documents, and even from the constitution.
It's more of a far-right authoritarian autarky (juche) regime.
What would make them communist instead of socialist?
>>848329
North korea is the natural step after socialism. Marx was just delusional to think his ideas would work without a state.
>>848313
>Far right
>Pictures if marx hanging up in capital square.
>>848195
Look at how wasteful the American puppet state to the south is! The DPRK is a responsible global power, and I mean true power. The power of ICBMs and determination! Not wasteful electrical power.
>>848335
They claim to be specifically socialist. What I'm asking is what would make either term more distinct in being applied to them. Why one over the other, or are both applicable? What aspect of them makes them communist rather than just socialist?
pls and ty
>>848338
Of marx*
>>848298
>>848313
>everything I dont like is far right.
Theyve got far right elements (by necessity due to having isolated themselves around hostile neighboors) if you equate totalitarianism with the right only which seems like a biased oversimplification desu, but their economic system is still red as a tomato.
>>848344
What orthodox communists don't understand is ideas change and evolve. They disavow the new left you fail to accept that communism is a moronic pipe dream the way marx described.
But please keep clinging to the words of a man that has been dead for over 150 years while shouting "they are not real communists!"
>>848357
Yet you fail*
>>848357
I'm not clinging to any words, I'm just trying to learn something that nobody has answered yet.
I am trying to better understand how to make the distinction between the two as applied to NK, that's all.
I'm not being snarky or sassy, I legit wanna understand pls.
>>848357
Also despite having such emphasis on ethnic pride, they take in workers and refugees all the time.
>>848361
They acheived socialism decades ago. Prehaps when communism as described is unattainable the natural order of things is to simply be a authoritarian shithole in the name of the workers?
It's really not rocket science, "true "communism exists only in peoples minds and alawys will. If anything communism is simply within the minds of workers of socialistic republic shitholes.
>>848373
I'm not sure i understand, but thanks for trying!
>>848377
It's a subject that doesen't even make sense when communists explain it. How you are suppose to acheive communism from socialism has alawys been a grey and debated area, because like I said the concept is retarded.
>>848384
Ah, okay, I dont feel so bad now lolol thanks.
I thought it was a more black/white distinction.
>>848195
More like why nationalism is shit.
> North Korea
> Will do everything in their power to preserve and celebrate Korean culture
> South Korea
> Asians pretending they're westerners
See, I can also make shitty claims on a Taiwanese tea party!
>>848389
Butthurt leftie spotted.
Was the USSR nationalist as well?
>>848384
This. If Karl Marx was a videogame designer he would be Todd Howard
> How will you transits from socialism to communism?
> It just werks
>>848313
>It didn't really 'fail spectacularly' until the fall of the USSR in the early 90s
>>848389
>> Will do everything in their power to preserve and celebrate Korean culture
???
by speaking korean and doing korean things in korea?
other than that I don't see how they've done anything over the top
>>848389
North Korea isn't run by Confucian courts
>>848394
No but they had a state ideology that had some pretty huge effects on their society, not that I know what that has to do with your shitty thinking.
>>848373
It is possible and has worked to some success...in the micro. Macro communism's results may be a pipe dream.
>>848416
And north korea didn't? Christ moron no wonder you people deserve to be mocked
>>848424
I don't know if you've trouble reading because I never claimed north korea didn't. Bet your eyes are as shitty as your brain.
>>848421
Sure if I live like a caveman in a hippy collective
>>848428
>USSR changed things socially that's why it's not nationalist!
>Umm so did NK
>Where did I claim it didn't?
Why are all communists retarded?
>>848425
And the USSR didn't do both those things?
>>848425
western media and foreign religions introduce foreign ideas and promote dissent
it isn't about nationalism, it's about cowing the people and maintaining the totalitarian state
>>848195
The Korean peninsula is a perfect example of why poorly implemented authoritarianism is shit and well implemented authoritarianism is great.
>>848195
North Korea doesn't even pretend to follow Communism anymore, their current claimed ideology is Juche. What's the point of calling something "Communism" if it not only has zero resemblance to commie theory, but also even they themselves claim to be doing something different?
