This so hard

>thou shalt not murder

Is very, very different from

>thou shalt not kill
>>
Not to MURDER, not KILL. World of difference.
>>
>>591821

So if the state puts someone innocent to death, that's not murder?
>>
>>591824
It isn't. Are you daft? Murder is by definition unlawful.
>>
>>591829
but the state decides the law
>>
>>592021
So?
>>
>>591767
self defense is all right then a few people in the faith make up some bullshit reason them going on the offensive is self defense

So ISIS isn't murdering anyone, they're "just killing" them?

>"b-but ISIS isn't a real government!"
They enforce laws and collect tribute at gunpoint, same as your own government.

Also, your naive logic also justifies the executions of Christians throughout history. Nice job.

Is it lawful to kill someone innocent?
>>
>>591824
>>592184

Murder is "the unlawful premeditated killing of one human being by another."

you can kill a mosquito it would be retarded to have that as a sin.
>>
>>592184
It is lawful for the state to kill someone that is innocent provided that they have been found guilty in a court of law based on the evidence provided. They do not know that they are killing an innocent person when the truth is incapable of being absolutely completely determined and a misinterpretation throws everything into the wrong light. Thus, while it is unjust for an innocent person to die for a crime they did not commit, it is not strictly unlawful when there is no way for humans to know without omniscience and omnipresence.

So what if being Christian is a capital punishment?

Oh look, there goes your statist theory.
>>
>>592184
In the eyes of God, probably not.
>>
>>592225
>So what if being Christian is a capital punishment?
then it is an unjust law.
>>
>>592183
>They enforce laws and collect tribute at gunpoint, same as your own government.
Little bit different. Other governments do that at the behest of the people involved. ISIS does not.
Besides, what they're doing isn't morally justifiable, as opposed to the Septics zapping a few negro mass murderers.

>>592239
Not always. You could choose to bugger off elsewhere.
>>
>>592225
>>592268
It's still unjust, but it is lawful. The original argument is the difference between murder and the legal exercise of violence, this has little pertinence to the commandment however.

Kinda does, though. As in, to murder someone is an act which the victim reasonably couldn't avoid. To kill them [as part of the state], they could choose not to put themselves in a position of being killed.

>>592312
Nothing wrong with a [state] imposing laws which the people could reasonably follow.
>>
>>592338
whether people could follow them is irrelevant, it is still unjust
>>
>>592360
In your opinion.
