Is having a stoic mindset the best way to get through life?
>>
Yes, if you want to be a subservient cuck.
>>
It's not Epicureanism so no

How are you being subservient when you literally dont need shit to live a good life?
>>
Well, it's certainly a way to get through life.

Dunno what that's worth though, let alone if it's the "best way". Technically suicide is also a way to "get through life".
>>
Can anyone rec some books besides Meditations and Letters from a Stoic?
>>
I personally lean towards nihilism.

What does that achieve in your life, in terms of practicality?
>>
Camusphile reporting in, not to me, it seems to downplay my own desires and motivations. I understand the idea but I do not find it appealing at all due to how deeply it regards logic as the be all and end all and how emotions that may be good for some people are seen as destructive regardless of context and subjectivity

shitposting on a malaysian cartoon board

epicureanism > stoicism
>>
Personally I think it depends on where you are with life
Absurdism is something I really enjoy though
>>
Epicureanism for peace, Stoicism for war

No dude, change is inevitable. We are very very malleable physiologically speaking. Neuroplasticity and ingrams can be changed even faster so through the use of lsd. Best to not resist it at all, just don't get sucked into any dogmas along the way. Including these ones :^}

confirmed for not even knowing what stoicism is
>>
>>524166
Nothing.

And?
>>
Yes, if you are a grown-up man, who wishes to spend the rest of his life with dignity.

But if you are a young adult, it's stupid. You need passions to accomplish your goals. Without passion, you'll be wasting the strength of your youth.

came to say this

whoops that was an embarrassing long shot..

How do you deal with thoughts of revenge and hatred?
>>

>Yes, if you want to be a subservient cuck.

Uh, what?
A Stoic is pretty much the least subservient person you could find, since he can't be threatened.
Epictetus called Hadrian, the heir of the Roman Empire a sissy for not wearing a beard. Which led to Hadrian eventually growing one.
>>
It isn't worth discussing.

Stoicism is worthwhile from what it can evolve, as a mindset it's too simple to really reply to you.

"Be stoic"
"Okay"
