Didn't Nietzsche basically say Christianity was a degenerate form of Judaism. If you think about it from the Jewish perspective, Christianity is basically cultural suicide. The entire Jewish culture is erased and replaced with universal brotherhood, all the ceremonies and traditions are gone, any notion of racial or cultural loyalty is destroyed, and they are supposed to celebrate the death of their own God.

for the same reasons Catholics have difficulties converting Orthodox.
Their religion is pretty connected with their identity, which gives them an imperative to stay jewish in order to avoid exclusion with their family.
Also, they feel a lot of resentment with christians, because it completely undermined their religion and were ruled and oppresed by them for centuries.

They celebrate both, but remember that the Christian symbol is a death symbol, as opposed to say...the empty tomb.
Think about it from a Jewish perspective. The idea of God dying in that mythology is absurd. That is why until very recently Jews actually got along better with Muslims than Christians since they shared a similar very of God as being something with no human side at all.
