In all honesty, how would one go about finding out the correct religion/denomination or at least the most correct theology? Is it even possible?
>>509900
If you're looking for salvation, you just don't.
If God is truly benevolent, then it would understand your skepticism and as long as you are a good person, you will rewarded.
If it is not benevolent, it probably isn't worth worshiping in the first place.
The answer is subjective, there is no objective true religion so as long and you live for god, being to help fellow man that seems to be the most objective thing followed in most religions. If anything is the correct way to do things that's it.

Hello Marcus
Honestly I've come to see Buddhism as the most objectively correct religion, since it's based off personal experience rather than dogma or doctrine.
Plus the more you delve into it and the more you practice, the more you begin to see the truth in all of it's teachings. These aren't just simple wisdom fables that help guide you the right way, they're actual descriptions of reality that can be experienced for yourself.

Yea buddhism is good because it's a meditation technique as well as being a spiritual thing as well

>If it is not benevolent, it probably isn't worth worshiping in the first place.
absolute non-sequitur. respect is based solely on power, not benevolence.
if something all powerful exists, you suck its ever living fucking dick in the hopes that it doesn't smite you...not because its "benevolent" or not.

But if it's not benevolent, sucking its dick is kinda pointless, as it might choose to put you in hell just for kicks.
>>511564
Then good luck betting your eternal soul on a hunch, because you will never know which religon is the right one, and if you choose wrong you might end up in a worse position then the non believer

god is not denomination
look towards nature
nature including yourself
>>511918
the only correct answer, if you really find the need of such a badly conceived and defined notion as god.
>>509900
Step 1
>Talk to God/ the Gods
Step 2
>Ask
Have you considered the fact that no religion seems suitable to you because there are no gods and you acknowledge it?
>>511371
Who?
>>512954
Oh kindly fuck off. This is a board where discussion of philosophy, including the atheistic is the subject. It's not designed to be your personal Christian hugbox.
>>512975
> triggered
>>512975
>Atheist """"""""""""""""""""""""""""""philosophy""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""
>>511576
You basically just described Calvinism.
>>509900
>looking for the way
>not realizing it will change
Anon, today's treasure is tomorrow's trash.
What you believe to be true one year will almost certainly be different in less than five.
>cradle atheist
Probably no hope for me. I will never truly believe in God unless the Virgin Mary herself appears to me at least twice -- before and after I've been in the mental hospital.
>>509900
Seek and ye shall find.
>>513029
Pretty much all philosophy is atheistic. The parts that aren't, I'm not sure those are even brought up in academic philosophy outside of ontology and theology discussions.
Hey kids, go discuss your imaginary friend at Sunday school
With kind regards: a non retarded anon

Islam. Just take the time to read the message Islam claims.
From Adam to Jesus to Muhammad - the message has always been one.
>>513383
Thank for saying it for me, pagan
>>513449
Message:
>cut off clitoris
>have sex with six year old
>get a fresh one a few years later
>blow up some Israelis
>72 virgins in jannah!
Jesus never promised me 72 virgins.
>>513472
Nor did Muhammad actually, and you'd know that if you did anything more than browse a certain board and watch Fox news
>>513462
>pagan
Do you know where that word comes from?
>>512177
Why even post this?
>>513472
Come on dude she was atleast nine.
>>511564
What if it's a trickster God that punishes people for believing in him because it's unexpected?
>>513472
> Female Genital Mutilation isn't an actual Islam concept. It's an African concept.
> Marrying younger individuals is the norm throughout history. How are you on /his/ when you don't even know that?
> Aisha was the only "young" one actually.
> lolwut
> 72 virgins is a transmission thrown out by all Islamic schools of thought. It's not an actual concept in the theology.
>>515717
>the only "young" one
Boy the mental gymnastics is astounding
>implying there needs to be more than one for Mohammed to be considered a pedo
>>515779
Do you not read? People getting married in their younger years was the norm throughout the majority of history.
