When you look at a map of oil in the middle east, suddenly american foreign policy in the region starts to make a lot more sense.

We should created a coalition against isralel and Saudi Arabia instead of Iraq.

Well meme'd my friend.
More realistically we should force those rich ass gulf states to take the Syrian refugees, then partition Iraq and Syria along Shia/Sunni/Kurdish lines.

>Oman has flecks of oil
really?
whats up with Oman?
They seem to just chill out there doing nothing and garnering no attention but apparently they still have oil
even the UAE has smatterings of problems with terrorist sympathy adjacent to ultra decadent displays of wealth
Oman is just... there

They have a cool king. Not so cool if you prioritize democracy but, well, you clearly should not.

They have their own brand of islam which is neither sunni nor shia. They also presumably get a fair bit of cash from having a presence around the gulf of oman.

Yes, because if we acted on principle and nothing else, we would be at war with most of the world.
And not hippy faggot bullshit trade/intelligence war. Real war. With tanks and shit.
Come back when you're not fifteen anymore.

How would acting on principle with the states around the gulf lead to the US being at war with most of the world? Please describe that process in great detail.
Good relations with countries tend to make them friendly towards you in turn.

They're pretty much a "light" version of all the shitty sultanates in the Gulf. They've still got various human rights violations going on:
>censorship of press and internet
>fairly heavy (for the West) restrictions on non-muslim religions
>literally illegal to criticize the king
but they're far more tolerant than say the Saudis or any of the Gulf States.
