What if the United States had won the War of 1812?
How would that affected the European theater?
>>
By win you mean what? Conquering Canada? It probably wouldn't affect shit since the relevance of Canadian territory is close to 0.

>Canada, a country covered with snows and ices eight months of the year, inhabited by barbarians, bears and beavers.

Not much
The British military was only comitted to a secondary theater in Europe (Spain)

The only way for the Napoleonic Wars to end differently would be a change of outcome in the 1812 Russian campaign where Napoleon lost his invincible army to frost, disease and starvation.
>>
>>443779
USA forms alliance with Napoleon against Britain and Russia. Then it sends its troops into France to help Napoleon defeat the advancing Russians and Brits
>>
>>443779
Maybe if they had declared war sooner Britain would be too distracted with Napoleon to defend Canada.
>>
>>443779
The British then would become a lot more Anti American later on, Possibly doing everything they can to weaken them Economicly

>snows
Why do people pluralize snow? At what point does one snow become two snows?
>>
>>444022
"It snows in the winter"
>>
>>443779
>won
>implying there was a way to "win" when the entire war was just a sideshow to the action in Europe
>>
>>444026
That's conjugated, not pluralised.
>>
>>443779
Winning or losing was irrelevant. The relevant part is that they maintained sovereignty.
The US had little to no projection ability until significant reforms were made to the military branches post civil war.
>>
>>443779
It did win. It got the Royal Navy to stop impressing American sailors into its ranks.
>>
>>444022
Conversely, what the fuck is a singular 'snow'? It isn't a snowflake, so what? English is a weirdass language.
>>
The War of 1812 was a misguided attempt to capitalize on Britain's preoccupation with Napoleonic France. Even if America managed to conquer parts of British Canada, Britain would have just come to get them back once Napoleon was settled with.

This. Yeah we didn't make any territorial gains and the White House burned down; but, if the Britain won the War of 1812, then the US won Vietnam.
>>
>>443997
Good fucking luck getting those soldiers across the ocean
>>
>>445903
It's a mass noun, shitlord. Pray tell, how does your language handle the grammatical number of snow?
>>
>>445903
Your language doesn't have uncountable nouns?

You say one water two water.
>>
>>443779
but....it did win.
>>
>>Yeah we didn't make any territorial gains.

cept the Upper-midwest, Great Lakes, Florida, and the entire Mississippi Valley.
>>
>>446144
Florida was it's own separate deal, and the other territories were part of the Louisiana Purchase.

>>445799
In the Treaty of Ghent, all borders between American territory and British territory was restored to pre-war status. No mention was made of impressment whatsoever.

>>443779
The real significance was the age of nationalism that followed, in which both the North and the South wanted better relations with Britain (South to ship cotton and North for trade in general). The support of the British navy allowed America to issue the Monroe Doctrine, aimed at Russia.

The war also showed the different economies of the North and South, but everyone forgot about the differences for another 20 years or so.

>In the Treaty of Ghent, all borders between American territory and British territory was restored to pre-war status.
irrelevant to the cause

>No mention was made of impressment whatsoever.
>brits still stopped doing it
America got what it wanted. They won.
