How does a nihilist react in front of friendship, love and death of a beloved one?
>>
>>348324
A true nihilistic wouldn't be bothered obviously.
>>
>>348326
And how does he choose to do something like eat, talk, make love etc.?
>>
Well a reaction is just that
Not a long thought out moral philosophy
You think nihilists wouldn't feel feelings?
>>
>>348330
He does those things and doesn't enjoy them.
>>
>>348331
that is what i was asking myself, what kind of person is a nihilist, and how do someone become a "Übermensch"?
>>
>>348333
But surely they would because of brain chemistry
>>
>>348330
Because he's not a pure spirit but an organism and has little control over his animal instincts.
>>
>>348324
There's no such thing as nihilism

This place really has become a containment board
>>
>>348324
He acts solely according to his desires. If he is sad, he cries. If he desires human contact, he starts a friendship etc.
>>
>>348349
It's really sad, actually.
>>
Why are people on this board treating philosophical positions as if they were religions?
>>
>>348348
this
>>
>>348349
can't just someone ask what is nihilism in real life?
>>
>>348349
kill yourself

Being a nihilist doesn't mean changing the way your brain works.
You can still have emotions and go through these feelings while realising they are essentially meaningless.

But nothing matters, so there is nothing wrong with that.
Time to live your oh so human life.
>>
>>348324
>friendship,
reciprocate
>love
fuck love, it's shit
>and death of a beloved one?
never happened to me but I'd imagine I'd be sad
>>
>>348341
brain chemistry may be flawed

To be an Ubermensch you need to live life to the max in all respects. That is, fully controlling your own life by discarding all spooks and living life so meaningfully that you could live it over and over again.
>>
>>348337
The Overman is the exact opposite of a nihilist, pretty much his worst kind of enemy.

A nihilist would probably feel sad for a bit and then go on about his life. None of his emotions or reactions are that strong, because he has no strong beliefs, he just kind of exists.

Who the fuck knows what an Overman would do, maybe he'd erect a giant monument in honour of his friend, maybe he'd compose some great work of art. It'd probably be something bombastic and creative anyway, thats how Overmen roll.
>>

>by discarding all spooks

Kill yourself stirnercunt.

That shitty piece of philosophy isn't in Nietzsche's worldview at all. If anything, he actively supports and encourages people to believe in what Stirner would call "spooks" - they are the things that will save humanity.
>>
He pretends to care, so society wouldn't reject him, but deep down he is indifferent
>>
If nihilists aren't satisfied by scientific materialism, then doesn't that necessarily imply a sentimentally-philosophical pursuit of meaning?

Because pragmatically, 'nothing matters/there is no meaning' cannot be relative to materialism. Materialism refutes nihilism, and answers the question of meaning with the cold, practical reality.

Is that sound?
>>
>>348337
Nihilism is the gateway to becoming the ubermensch. Nietzsche says morality is all relative and can never be objective, so the ubermensche literally just projects his will as morality. To find his will, the ubermensch goes through positive nihilism.
>>
>>348324
Same as most people.
>>
>>348567
Yes, it's an error that's in about 7 billion people. Who else could have thought?
>>
>>348324
He might cry out of shock, but not true sadness, unless the person was really a part of their daily life (losing your parents at 11 is different than losing them at 35).
>>

Here's a gift for you, tripfriend.
>>
>friendship and love

They enjoy both while they last.

>death of a loved one

They mourn, deal with it, and carry on with their lives as they see fit.
>>
Nihilism isn't the same as pessimism or lack of emotion. A nihilist is just a person who recognizes his personal feelings don't constitute objective reality.
>>
>>348324
Not necessarily any different than other people. Even though a nihilist might believe that there is no greater meaning to anything, he may still feel sad at a personal level.
>>
Nihlist here, ignore everyone else in this thread. You may, being a nihlist, accept that it is all meaningless of course. But it doesn't change how you feel, what you value and who you are.

Just because there isn't a point doesn't mean there can't be one. Quite surprising how there are this many stupid people on this board. Is /lit/ any worse?
>>
>>352849
So a nihilist isnt one who regret emotions but that accepts the fact they are meaningless?
>>
>>352849
>nihilist here
AAHHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHHHHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHHAHHHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAAAAHHHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHHHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHA fuck you

OP only a real nihilist would maintain the concept of 'loved ones' and the familial unit
>>
Nihilism is very important to a nihilist so he does what nihilism tells him and pretends he doesn't care.
