What's the fate of gentiles according to Judaism?

If you live a good life, you go to the afterlife. Nobody knows what the afterlife is like, because how could we? If you're not a Jew, that's fine.
If you life an evil life, you will be judged by G-d and accordingly punished. Nobody knows how this happens. This is true of evil Jews and evil gentiles.
The question is when does this afterlife begin? Probably immediately, but some scholars traditionally believed it would not be until the coming of the Messiah.
