/his/ I have a question about my ancestors.
A few years back my grandmother had one of those ancestry DNA tests to see where your ancestors are from. Her parents were from Wales so I guess she was expecting them to have all been from the British Isles or Western Europe. According to the test however she had family in North Africa (I'm pretty sure it was modern day Libya) that ended up migrating to the Britain at the end of the Roman Empire. So my question is was there any reasonably large migration of North Africans to Britain around this time? If not for what reasons may my ancestors have moved from North Africa to Britain?

I thought the empire was only using german mercenaries at that point. Would they still have taken north afircans and put them in Britain. Did they even still have britain at that point?

Truth is most of those DNA tests are dogshit and she shouldn't take them seriously.

more likely, however, the interpretation of the results was bullshit. the idea that an autosomal dna test is going to pick up on one ancestor from 2000 years ago is ridiculous.
