I feel like France gets more cool stuff than Britain, even if Britain's is often more practical.
(See, French carriers not having le-fucking-ramps, Rafale not being a multinational project v.s. Eurofighter, Mirage being an export success vs Britain's more limited export jets historically, independent nuclear deterrent with french-made missiles vs Britain's 'independent' deterrent using American missiles, albeit cheaper and better performing ones.)
