Protests after the DNC voted to put Hubert Humphrey as the 1968 Democratic nominee against Richard Nixon. The majority of Democrats wanted Sen. Eugene McCarthy, who had been leading the primary, with RFK in second place.

(April 1961) A Soviet Antarctic expedition is isolated with a single doctor. This doctor, (Leonid Rogozov), finds himself having severe pain, he discovers he has appendicitis. He decides to operate on himself rather than wait for his own death. He discards the use of a mirror after the flipped perspective proves to be a hindrance, and proceeds with the surgery by touch only. Two weeks later he fully recovers.
(1967) A vietcong soldier fought off American troops for three days, all while holding his insides inside a cooking bowl. Here, an American soldier offers his enemy clean water as a sign of respect for his courage in combat.
(July 1945) The Empire State building after a B-25 bomber crashes into the building due to low visibility. This event sparked design concerns for skyscrapers to withstand airplane crashes.
(December 25th 1942) Young Serbian Partisan, Slavoljub “Slava” Ković, was no older than 17 before being captured defending his homeland. Nazi SS officers torture him, carve his face, and photograph him before executing him. Ković refused to give the Nazis any information on the partisans, instead he proclaims, “Beat me, kill me, victory is ours!”
(June 22nd 1942) Stjepan Filipovic is executed for being a partisan against the invading Germans. He screams “Death to fascism, freedom to the people!” immediately before he is killed. For his efforts, Yugoslavia recognizes Filipovic as a national hero after the war ends.

all of these Apollo mission photographs are fantastic. I love the reflection and all of those stars being visible in different colors. am trying really hard not to be triggered by the fact that there are anons on /x/ who would unironically say that each of these were faked because we never went to the Moon, NASA lies, aliens are real, and the earth is actually flat.
well, maybe I'm not that close to being "triggered" after all. these pics are just to gorgeous and amazing. (plus I can always imagine Buzz Aldrin punching conspiracy anons in the face.)

Yes, because every soldier in the European theatre was black.
Get your bloody head out of your ass.

600 miles an hour and a full tank of gas is a hell of a thing.
The impact caused a huge amount of structural damage, and all the gas finished the job.
The B-25 didn't have the kinetic energy to break as many structural columns.
>>1385586
Should be /pol/s mascot.
>>1394668
A Boeing 767 is 2.5 times as fast and 10 times the weight of a B25, and the ESB is built like a fortress.
>>1394668
Aren't modern skyscrapers built with a lot less structural redundancy?
>>1396672
A lot more, actually.
It was considered very impressive that the World Trade Center could stand for over an hour despite having half of the structural columns broken, thousands of gallons of kerosene burning inside, and the water mains broken.
There were over fifty thousand people in the towers when the first plane hit, but the body count was less than three thousand.
Apparently most older skyscrapers would have pancaked immediately after the impact.
