That's funny, I just happened to be reading about the coptic language before stumbling upon this thread.
All written languages on this planet will die in use someday, replaced by more efficient/superior languages.

It's only the language of the church, like Latin for Catholics.
I personally believe it's more tragic, though, because it died relatively recently (c. 17th century) to be replaced with Egyptian Arabic.
