When the Russians invaded Czechoslovakia in 1968, the Soviet army had to requisition privately owned trucks.
There's simply no logistical possibility of the USSR managing to invade anything with any greater success at any point in it's history when compared to the relative strength of it's enemies. Forget about WW2, had it not been for the lend lease program, the Soviets would have had to walk to Berlin.
