>Danube Swabians in hungary
>Transylvanian Saxons next to the szekely land (where louis ck's family and surname came from)

they repopulated the area after the withdrawl of the ottomans
they also brought important trade skills with them like mining

>tfw there's very few of them left now

>they repopulated the area after the withdrawl of the ottomans

Actually, Transylvanian saxons were there since the 12th century, they built half of transylvania

God, how stupid were they forcing a load of different racial and cultural groups together into one country, no wonder it collapsed! Just like all those bigoted European Empires that carved up the Middle East with no thought to separate different ethic and religious groups from each other! It's high time the West establish an ethnostate for the Kurds. Oh btw that's me in the pic.

Are there even any subjects left where people won't cry about muh refugees?
>>
>>1202544
In 1989 there were still 200,000 of them left in Romania but ius sanguinis in Germany completely killed the community via mass emigration
>>
>>1202675
That's be a retarded thing to say because the idea that Austria-Hungary's multiculturalism was an actual issue that destroyed the country is a pop history meme

>it's a meme

Wonderful argument. It's a shame people are blind to all the facts you're laying down
>>
>>1203166
it actually is quite a bit of a meme though
and it can be traced to mostly british historical work immediately post ww1 & the various former a-h constituent nations nationalist arguments where anti-habsburg propaganda and justification played a significant part
for the former you have the trio of seton=watson, namier and steed, for the latter you have, well, virtually everything from the czechs, slovaks etc.
(incidentally consider that _even during_ the war, most czechs did _not_ want the empire to fall, they did not want to see it dismantled etc. - as in they wanted to remain part of it [even moreso before the war], and it was the clique around masaryk that pushed events to their real life conclusion)
john deak addresses this exact issue of 'hurr dur inevitable fall of a-h' in his 'great war and the forgotten realm'

>>1203192
This, it kinda triggers me that to this day people still believe perfidious bullcrap about A-H "inevitable" collapse.
>>
>>1203166
The only people that were an actual issue were the fucking Serbs
They, as it turns out, were not a part of Austria-Hungary and were a foreign nation back terrorists inside it that everyone hated. Czechs were fine with the empire, Hungarians were, Germans did fine, Slovaks were okay with being in Hungary, and Croats fucking loved it. The fucking nations for the ethnicities that allegedly hated it were all made without any sort of referendum or popular vote
>>
>a country so cucked they made kuk their acronym
>>
>>1203166
But it didn't though. The war did. In fact all European land-based Empires were destroyed after WWI.
>>
>>1202410
Should have never occupied Bosnia, the war would never start, there would be no islam in europe. The things we do for clay.
>>

>Bosnia was a mistake
we really fucked that one up, we gained nothing and lost everything.

The president of Romania is a Saxon
>>
>>1203430
You mean the also multi-ethnic ottoman empire? Or Germany and Russia, the countries that stopped being empires yet barely lost any land specially if compared to Austria and Hungary?
>>
>>1203192
>>1203240

Why were Austria and Hungary partitioned while Germany, the preferred big bad boy in the imaginarium of the winners, only lost Poland and Alsace-Lorraine (in Europe)?
>>
>>1205485
Because the entente were a bunch of cunts
>>
>>1202477
Because germans aren't real. Just a confederation of various worthless central european bog nigger tribes who get butthurt when cucked by meds and aryans.
>>
>>1205490
I already knew that.
>>
>>1205502
Then don't ask question you knew the answer to already
The entente can forcibly partition an empire however they want, but the empire wouldn't have collapsed if they hadn't
>>
>>1205485
they were not as much partitioned as the minority elements vying for independence won over both internally as well as the support of the victorious powers leading to the collapse of the monarchy
furthermore the constituent lands of the monarchy were still discrete units with their power structures
there were no such elements of note to be found in a (relatively speaking) more uniform germany

>>1205506
>but the empire wouldn't have collapsed if they hadn't
it would have, there was no stopping the 1918 train
the treaties like st germain merely affirmed and reflected the situation on the ground
>>
>>1203415
I like you, anon.
>>
>>1203146
>>1203192
there weren't a lot of violent events in AH before ww1. sure, many minorities didn't like it, but this issue was hardly destroying the empire. losing the war did. there was a lot of internal political debate on the minority issue, but it mostly remained just that: debates. contrast that to Russia for example, where they had constant problems with terrorists and rebellions in the Caucasus and Central-Asia.
