Is this the direction the history channel should be going in? Is this better than reality shows or talking head shows discussing which historical figures would win in a fight?

Pop history serves a purpose I guess. Nobody under 30 watches television anymore anyway.

History channel has always been crap. When it was "good" it just showed documentaries that they licensed to show on their channel. You can now find all those docs on youtube. "Great Minds" is actually funny, and probably the only show I've liked that they produced themselves. Even that I just watch on youtube.
TLDR; Go to sleep Spencer we like your show.

I love dan harmon, but this is not all that great, but certainly better than the history channel standard. I could enjoy watching this, the reality shows are actually cancer.

This is the same guy that made Drunk History right?
>get D-list celebrities drunk
>get them to spew a half-remembered wikipedia article on camera
>don't correct their mistakes so idiots watching MTV actually believe whatever stupid shit they watched and think they learned something

No.
He made Rick&Morty and Community.
And it's clearly not focusing on the history at all here, so I wouldn't worry.
