Tell me about the bantustans
Basically Bantu containment zones. Bantus who weren't wanted in SA proper could be deported to their home-'stan. They were generally shitholes with a very high population density. This and carelessness resulted in wide-spread soil erosion which made the land even more shitty. The end game for the apartheid government was to deport all Bantus to their respective homelands, however, this was never carried out as the economy relied on black labor.
