Why do people tattoo bible verses on themselves when the bible forbids tattooing?
>>
>>1130000
The dominant Christian philosophy is that the "old law" e.g. Leviticus doesn't really apply anymore

Now a Jew getting a Bible verse tattooed, wew lad
>>
>cutting your hair
>eating shellfish
etc. are all old law, like >>1130003 said.

btw nice fucking quads
>>
>>1130003
Even most modern jews are in agreement that most of the bible was written for ancient hebrews, not modern people.
>>
Did Romans have any law about writing on their body? I see a lot of faggots getting Latin phrases on themselves.
>>

this reminds me of a dank history tattoo idea I have. Full sleeve, get Trajan's column tattooed on your arm.
>>
>>1130000
tattoos are only in leviticus because it was related to worship of other gods
>>

I don't think I've ever heard this, I know most Jews today, outside Israel at least, are largely irreligious and secular/atheist, who just think it's hogwash, not that it wouldn't apply anymore. For those that believe though, it's timeless in meaning.

Ahh, I see, and since Christians are already polytheists, it would be redundant. Thank you.
>>
>>1130066
It's not exactly like that, for Christians it's a new covenant.
For Jews it's that they're all a bunch of atheists now.

I like that.

On a more literary note,I have considered getting the Judecca tattoo on my back

>I'm a poor college student so all I have is tattoo ideas
>>
>>1130073
I mean, at the very least it would have been frowned upon as it was a more Goth practice. But there is no evidence to my mind that they did outlaw it.

I've never heard of a Roman having any tattoos.
