Svetozar Boroević von Bojna was a slavic military commander loyal to Austria-Hungary. As a result, when the Habsburgs were gone, nobody liked him, not the South Slavs who were now independent and saw him as a "traitor", neither the Austrians who were republicans and quite anti-Habsburg.
He was one of the best Habsburg generals in WWI, if not the best, and he died broken and penniless a couple of years after the end of the war.
