To BTFO Christianity, you need but recognize one simple idea: virgin births and resurrections do not happen.

>he reads the Bible literally
>>
>>1054693
The Bible is literal in a lot of places, there's no way around it friend.
>>
Hume basically advocated common sense. You can't prove anything deductively (absolutely) given the Münchhausen trilemma, and Hume demonstrated that observed causation need not repeat itself. Though, he suggested all our ideas have empirical basis, just pieced together from them. So while he may not have believed in prrof™, he did believe in weighing one notion against another on its merits.
>>
He didn't 'btfo' science, he merely pointed out (as many others have) that the scientific method uses a logical fallacy. The scientific method is not based on logical soundness but on 99,99996% statistical probability.

He's literally: Universal Agnostic: The Philosopher

>implying he didn't get BTFO by Kant

>read the bible figuratively
>Christians come out the woodwork to say that you're wrong and that everything happened as it says
there's just no pleasing 2.2. billion Christians, is there?
>>
>>1055192
I'd actually be interested to see the rate of growth between different beliefs (over a long period obviously).
>>
>>1054654
Prove that it is scientifically impossible.
>>
>>1055199
It would coincide with the population boom after WWII

The "territory" that religions are present in today was already established, it just needed that fukhuge push
>>
>>1054654
Indeed, normally it doesn't happen. But
> What is a miracle
>>
>>1055220
A human invention that only "exists" in the mind of hucksters and invalids.
>>
>>1055220
And Hume suggested we weigh any miracle against a naturalistic explanation. Whatever being the greater miracle being the least likely.
>>
>>1055223
Watch out , we've got an omniscient being over here.

Did you go to one of those Christian schools where they don't do biology or sex education?
