It seems to me that porn has been declining and getting very boring not only the way they shoot the scenes but the enthusiasm of the girls are dying. I think that 2002-2008 were the best for porn. Here's my take:
1. Modern/Internet era, which I would roughly call 2008-present. Example: scene one opens with a girl in a miniskirt, camera follows her up bedroom stairs, onto bed, she starts toying, undressing...the two guys come in and it's partytime...no backstory necessary. Also the peak era for porn DVD's (rental and so on).
3. 80's: The New Wave: A lot of people might disagree, but the 80's was home to some major talent, especially when contrasted with the 90's. Sure everything was on a 37 dollar budget, but somehow it was still action packed. Ginger Lynn, Kascha, fuckin Traci Lords...so many others...surprisingly decent era.
4. The Fucking 70's: Similar to the 80's but with a higher budget. There were approaching films with fucking; funky soundtracks, actual screenplays, so on...some of the more popular films even mingled with normality, being reviewed by critics and what not.
5. The 90's: Worst decade for fucking. The industry seemed coked out, bored, and lazy. The dreaded ball cam and male cutaway shot dominated, and the talent dropped overall. It was like a drugged out rehash of the 80's. Thank god for gonzo...
Gonzo Era (especially the rough stuff those guys didn't give a shit) followed by today.
