I'm pretty sure he was referring to simultaneous bilingual subtitles. Meaning that both the Japanese transcript AND English the translation would appear at the same time. If for whatever reason you want that, you'll have to enable it in the debug menu.

As much as I love Liru and Seismic, monthly subscription may turn out to be a very bad thing. he does not stick to timetables and he works at his own pace. I think this could end up as a disaster I would never use Patron or any of those intermediary services for digital distribution.
