the other way which i feel like is impossible for many, is that you have to be really really good with your art.
If you tag your pictures just the right way, then when some random people see it then they are obviously more likely going to reblog/like your stuff. i also assume if your stuff has memes of the month/whats currently popular, that's also going to increase your chances. additionally, if youre really good and you draw for the threads, its likely more people going to ask if you have a blog

Another bit of advice that I'd suggest is to try to get in early on a fandom's porn scene (for example, Kiznaiver premiered last week, so there's barely any smut. I've only seen one picture).
