You have to make the 2 images in 1, if you see it fuzzy, take the glasses off and try to focus for like 10 seconds, the it'll look good =)

It gives a slight 3d effect like wearing 3d glasses. It also makes the picture appear a bit sharper(?), hard to describe the effect, makes the picture look better in some weird way beyond the 3d, but again both effects are somewhat slight. You should be able to focus completely though. Helps if you aren't close to the screen so you only cross your eyes slightly, then focus on the middle image and try to resolve it.

- You can go to depthy.me and use the tools to generate the depth on your picture. I strongly recommend to use an external image editor instead of the one used on the website.
- You can also try this tutorial on the left. I didn't managed to do something with it through...
For the animated ones :
Just... good luck. Those was done using Blender to generate the depth AND animating it.

What I found helped was focusing on a specific part of the image, to train the eyes to focus there, and eventually the rest of the picture.
If you can't focus, try on your phone.
It's easier on a smaller screen.

1. Cross your eyes. This should generate two phantom images (one from each side). Cross your eyes more/less to make them line up.(usually more, esp with a large screen)
You might also have to tip your head out the screen if I've if the phantoms is above/below the other.
2. Hold 1. for a little bit to get used to it, 10 second should be enough
3. Try and focus on part of the combined phantoms. Don't force it, your eyes will take the bait out they won't. If you can't get just keep trying.
4. Take breaks occasionally and focus your vision on objects near and far which will 'flex' your ability to focus and prevent injury.

Look at them on your phone, cross your eyes and try to combine the two images into one.
Once you can do that,adjust the phones distance from your face to adjust the focus.
That's how it works for me at least
The more vertical and less horizontal an image, the easier it generally is to focus properly

Just cross your eyes until the images overlap. The first one in a session is the hardest for me.
What works for me
>start with one that very vertical. the less you have to move your eyes horizontally, the less you have to strain your muscles to keep them in place (I still have trouble with blurriness in horizontally profiled images)

To check if the depth is nonexistent or really subtle :
- open the picture using GIMP or photoshop
- duplicate the layer
- set the upper layer mode to "grain extract" or "Difference"
- move the upper layer in order to overlay precisely the left/right picture
- If you have a flat color, it's a simple copy paste. If not, the thickness of each lines show how good the result is.

if you want the 3d, you have to focus your eyes at an object about 20 feet behind your computer screen.
"crossing" your eyes means focusing directly in front of your face...you want to point your eyes straight ahead so they are paralell
