I dont organize them, sorta. I torrent whatever books or movies I want, keep them in the Vuze folder and rename them. All the images I want I just keep in a folder, and whenever I download them I just use Bazzacuda. When I finish a session of downloading images, I go in and rename all of them to whatever is in the picture, like creampie with western/american, or nakadashi with eastern, and following that I have character who is the primary focus in the name.
Whenever I want specific porn, I go to that folder and search for the right tag in the name.

H-animation is an unsorted mess.
I suck at Hiragana/Katakana shit so the most I can do is google every single title and hope that a romanji title is present. Also there are also duplicates such as JAP with hiragana and Eng subbed versions with romanji/translated titles mixed in between. It's a mess. I literally just drag the files into this folder and sort by date in order to keep it going. Older files are being forgotten and eventually downloaded again.

I have a folder for R34 a folder for R34(2) for shit I don't know but I liked the porn. A folder for original work, a folder for sadpanda doujins.
And the folder were every pic goes before I sort them. That folder has almost 1 million archives, and it grow day by day.
Anyone have experience hosting their own personal booru on localhost? Tempted to try so I can browse all my shit over wifi locally or vpn.
I'm lazy as fuck so I just throw everything into an imgur album. Hey, it's easy for trades. I can link it to a friend or post it in IRC.

Just look up characters, positions, body parts, or fetishes you like on Danbooru or Gelbooru (avoid xbooru and paheal, they suck). Make sure to add -rating:safe to remove SFW stuff (questionable is for tits/pussy and explicit is for sex)

Sankaku complex is much better. infinite scroll, a ton more pictures, a lot of webm/gifs, you change the quality threshold for the search and find all high quality images.

I don't see the benefit in sorting it by artist rather than by tag/character
If I want to fap to a certain thing eg: Succubus, I can just navigate to that folder then fap away.
With it sorted by artist, you'd be edging for minutes trying to find that particular doujin/manga/image you want to fap to. Fuck that shit.

I only really put actual effort into sorting H anime. Sadly, all of my images are dumped into one huge folder. Impossible to find anything but all efforts to organize/tag it just end up being too much work.
I have video, images, animations (divided into gif, webm, SFM content, flash), and games their own category. Just downloading/keeping up with all the H anime is nearly impossible because of less spare time and because it takes a long time to consume (read: lots of repeated viewings) or move through content.
Games requiring a full blown install go on a separate SSD.

Unosrted tiiit or what ever is as it sounds, a bunch of images I never got around to finding sauce of. It used to be two smaller massive and regular tits folder, but after sorting them a bit later I decided to merge them into one
I have mostly series specific folders, with some named after the series and other after characters, though character folders usually still have other chracters of the same series. I also have artist named folders when im too lazy to properly organize characters that came from other series.
Only thign missing is a huge ass folder outside of this one in the root directory of my flash drive that I havent sorted, some 2800 images

I made this thread a while ago, and kind of forgot about it, and how bad it was. I asked for people to show me their collections, but only showed my top level folder without explaining a thing.
I guess I can start with showing how my folder looks now, since it has grown since I made the thread.
I'll be going into much more detail this time.

Doujin and manga folder. Sorted by name, not by artist, even though some works by the same artist are collected in folders.

The games folder. This ones a wierd one too. Half of these works aren't games, at least I wouldn't say. I put all those interactive hentai works here.

Right now, my collection is exactly 370gb. I started collection a long time ago, so a lot of it is really unsorted, and it would take ages to go through all of it. If in the past I was as organized as I am now, this collection would look much better.
There are two folders that only contain one file each, the HMV folder and the projects folder. The HMV folder only contains one HMV, and the project folder is currenlty housing only one project I'm working on. So nothing to show here.
Still got ways to go... But i am proud of this. Mostly packs but also random dumps too
I just use the superior OS with it's awesome tagging system and intelligent folders.
I don't have to worry about folder structure at all as long as I tag everything correctly.

I edit the pictures so they have a square ratio (200x200, 300x300 etc). It takes a while though, and I'm still not happy with the thumbnails. Editing right now actually.
