I would also add that it ought to be aesthetically pleasant, evocative within a context, and unique/memorable (yeah yeah, all of the above can go under 'communication' , but so would anything else)

Hey man, this is one of those things that could be something but it doesn't correlate enough. Mere color choice would suffice. Look into Joseph Albers and color theory. OG ass nigga who made the book on color. Would do you good to see the simplicity of his work, and how yours has no correlation to it.
