Anybody know the easiest way to smooth out these squiggly edges

Vectorizing with Inkscape made it look like this in the first place. I went in and edited by hand with GIMP for a bit. Thanks anyway.

Illustrator would be your best bet, but seeing that you're a GIMPleb, you probably won't do that.

Is there a pen tool in gimp? If there is just use that and redraw the image.

Go into Gimp with the pen tool and trace it out, or pick up a software called the Lazy Nezumi if you've got a few bucks on hand (or, trial). Draw it with the smoothing effects on there.
