Does anyone have a collection of fonts that are free to use commercially.
I plan on selling beer accessories on Etsy and don't want to use any fonts that will get me in trouble.

I have over 80k fonts but I'm not sure which are free to use.

I was wondering if there is a resource/zip file that has fonts that people can use commercially.

did you try dafont.com? you can filter by license if you go for advanced search. as far as I can remember there's shareware, free, free for commercial use, public domain/gpl, check it out

Yes I've been there many time, I can''t seem to see how to do an advanced search though.

On Dafont.com I read this under the FAQ.

all fonts are either freeware, shareware, demo versions or public domain.

So which of these are free to use commercially ( I will make a profit from items with artwork using this font)

thanks for this.

So as I'm reading all the readme files on fonts its so confusing to understand.

I see standard txt files like

SIL OPEN FONT LICENSE Version 1.1
Apache License Version 2.0
OFL Version 1.0

and then they read off a bunch of technical shit that I am unclear what it really means.
Its hard to tell if it safe to use or not.
For instance:

The OFL allows the licensed fonts to be used, studied, modified and
redistributed freely as long as they are not sold by themselves. The
fonts, including any derivative works, can be bundled, embedded,
redistributed and/or sold with any software provided that any reserved
names are not used by derivative works. The fonts and derivatives,
however, cannot be released under any other type of license. The
requirement for fonts to remain under this license does not apply
to any document created using the fonts or their derivatives.

what the fuck does this mean?

no. there's three colors green for personal use and blue for free for commercial use. all the first row supposedly are on red which denotes proprietary/non-free fonts.
