Well, the world has no real meaning or value to me. I'm not deluded or gullible enough to believe in any ideology or tradition, and yet I feel the need for one in order to overcome the shallow materialism I see all around me.
People are generally either uninteresting plebs or interesting but insane with drives I can't experience because of what I said in the sentence above. And history is one fuckup after another, due to societies and cultures being formed by the same people being driven by things that are alien to me.
The only thing that keeps me going is some types of artistic expression and moments of ecstatic nihilism in which I experience complete freedom and detachment from the rest of the world.
In conclusion I guess I experience existence as flawed and since I'm not suicidal, the world has to burn.

A friend of mine lives out in TX. He works at a 7/11 at 10h. At the same time he's worked in 2 weeks close to 100 hours. He is JUST making the bills. He hardly gets to do shit any more. All he does is get on facebook and chat with me at best. He lives with his boyfriend and 2 dogs. He's trying to make ends meet and it's still close to impossible. He tells me all the time that all his money goes towards bills. Yeah, OK cause getting more hours is good right?

It took me a few months to find a job five years ago. It's not a good job, it's long hours and shit pay but I do what I have to do and don't complain like a little bitch. Now I'm sending out applications for engineering jobs that will actually pay because I'm almost done with my education. Not him but the only guidance I ever got in my high school (us) was a 1 hour career aptitude and interest test and my counselor pushing me to just apply to every college and pick one. Nothing about what I want to do. No direction whatsoever. 6 years later now I have 30 out of 60 credits required for a 2 year degree because the thing I chose ended up hating and dropping out 3 times. I can't afford to move anywhere for another school, but my pride of being in a upper middle class family keeps me from going to a tech or doing a trade. So yeah it's pretty fucked I guess. Just trying to finish my 2 year degree and get a guaranteed transfer to a school ill have to drive 45 minutes each way to get to every day 5 days a week which hopefully will have something I'm interested in and don't suck at. And I'm already 23, fml.

Trade schools in MA are mostly free if you get accepted (you almost always will), but that's for when you're choosing what highschool to go to. I guess what I'm saying is that you should have tried to learn something useful while you had the chance, in junior high and highschool. Now things are going to be much more difficult, since you have to support yourself.
