Lol so many little things. Like in the jerk i didn't lower by bending the knees only, i also dipped a bit forward. I also didn't open my shoulders enough, and i didn't rest the bar the best possible way to let it get all the elasticity. When landing i put too much weight on my front leg and didn't drive my head through enough. + other things

Clean: Not enough power created. Coach said that most beginners should first learn to extend by "jumping", even tho its a bit wrong. Because of klokov videos i was lacking lots of power, and my second pull and third pull didn't really merge, and because of that i always catched my lifts pretty high.

Snatch: Same things + too narrow grip for me and lots of small details like how to hold hand in the bottom position, how to do the rhytm better and so on

Its just that i could end up doing same things wrong over and over again for weeks, because a coach isn't spotting it

Ye i took many recordings, its just that even tho you know somethings not right in the session, you can't always tell what it is, or how to fix it, or if you can even fix it right away (this is where coach plans things on your program and so on)

My slow progression in the lifts is already a sign of it, there are so many beginners in the gym who have much better progression than me with less strength

I just hit 90sn and I've been training oly properly (sole focus) maybe 7-8months and had a few months before doing it once a week

If you're younger and more flexible than me, and have a coach you could do it quicker I'm sure. I have a lot of issues with my technique from those months fucking about.

Basically, it's doable in 6months but don't be put out if you don't.

So I've finished my first TM cycle with a 137.5 1rm bs and want to concentrate on getting my fs up to a decent weight.

I've currently been doing it on Wednesday 4x2 and just increasing 2.5kg each week but it's starting to grind at 92.5kg.

I feel like it'd be much better to concentrate fully on doing more fs to help with cleans, is there a decent way to modify TM for front squats whilst still getting back squats in at enough volume that I don't lose too much on that.

Some rest from squatting heavy might help a bit with my WL too, so there's that as well.

I've cleaned 87.5 with my max fs of 90x2, I just feel like I could clean more if I knew I was strong enough to squat it.

The sticking point for me is the jerking, as a result of my crap shoulder really, but that's catching up now. But then would there be a point in having a huge clean if I can't jerk for shit?

What your coaching sessions are like?

I'm having 2 sessions with a coach and 2 sessions on my own. Coach sessions are like:

Snatch stuff
C&J stuff
BS/FS 4rep max / 3 rep max

And coach suggested that on my own days i do power snatch / power clean, push press, upper back, core etc. There are some other oly lifters that i ask about my form on these days.

The two days are basically split into clean days and snatch days.

Now my shoulder is not as shit anymore were doing jerks until failure and then switching to cleans, or sometimes it'll be C+J and then down to pulls.

For awhile at the start we didn't do jerks at all when my shoulder was playing up, he gave me a few weeks to isolate them and get them strong but that did nothing, so I was off to a physiotherapist.

He seems happy to let me do my strength training at the minute. And I can't really do oly at the gym I normally go to anyway, but a new one opens up soon that will have platforms.

Keep your back tight the lats should be engaged throughout

Do the klokov drill where you stand with the bar at your snatch grip and move it away and slam it against you using your arms/lats to feel contact so it 3-5 times to feel your lats really engage then do a hang snatch with the same feeling

Both klokov and torokhtiy has drills for this

Try delaying your second pull. Instead of accelerating from the knees to the hip, try to pull fast but smoothly all the way until you feel soft contact above your pubic bone. Once you have contact with that soft spot extend from the quads instead of thrusting the hips.

You need to be ever so slightly in front of the bar when the bar is in your hip, and if you were to try and stand stationary you should really feel it in your lats as you push the bar into your hips in the final position.

In a sense its the most important thing. This sport is heavy on your joints, ligaments, tendons etc. You really want to have some proper muscle mass to make you more stable and sturdy. With a good base you can go far, without ending up with lots of injuries and (very) fucked up body when older.
