Do you completely shave and wax all hair on your head, face and body? If not then "grooming" isn't an argument.
Having a beard doesn't mean you simply don't groom your face, a nice beard needs to be trimmed and washed just like anything else. If all you can grow is a few whisps then shaving it off would fall under grooming because a few wiry strands of pubehair on your face is quite unsightly.
