anyone tried using wax on the blackheads on their nose?

wash your face and then apply it. do this for a week and they will all be gone. most likley within 4 days

Just use the silica acid pads.
Hold it on the blackhead for about 30 seconds, rub around the area, throw away pad.
Don't use them every night, will cause skin irritation.

Does this really work? I have a bad case of big pores + blackhead and Im quite desperate since nothing really worked so far.
Also how often to apply? Once a day? Twice?

exfoliation helps, both mechanical and chemical. I used to use salicylic acid and it did seem to prevent them...a little. It also caused some sunburn so fuck that, I live in the tropics. Exfoliation with a loofah doesn't prevent all of them, but it does help.

Skin never completely repairs, after a pore is compromised there is tiny grooves (microscopic bowls if you will) on the sides of the wall where the hair or pore is. As you shed layers of skin or if oil/debris passes through said opening it's more likely to get caught in these grooves as your body slowly tries to push it out, this is the start of a pimple. More stuff gets caught behind it that also gets caught on said grooves until it completely blocks the pore. Eventually infection sets in or in the case of blackheads, drying up of said dead skin, minerals, oils, hair.
It sucks, but that's why we are suppose to sweat regularly, it helps keep excess skin, debris out of the pores.

Be careful with witch-hazel - it will generally work on most people. Find out whether or not skin is oily or combo. Also, witch-hazel is OK for me, but prefer rose water. Yes, more expensive, but not as drying.
Some dudes will need frequent to occasional facials, till flare-ups or breakouts diminish.
I don't do anything for my facial skin at all besides washing my face once a day.
What do you guys recommend in general?
