How many cals do you all cut on ?

On 1600 a day here, definatly working, some days its fucking toture, others its ok. lost about 30lbs in 4 months (wasn't fat as fuck before but i was overweight) down from 200lbs at 6ft 1" to 174lbs.

How the fuck do people like pic related (matt ogus) cut on like 3000 cals a day ? The guy in like 5ft 7, is that how good steroids are or is his calorie output just hugely high ?

What gives ?

Anon, some friendly advice from another chubby anon who is also cutting. Except I acually have muscles under my fat due to accually lifting.

Don't cut now. You will just look like a skinny shit.

Start lifting and you will start gaining muscle while the fat slowly goes down.

You will be much more happy seeing muscle under the fat rather then just a skinny fat twig.

Lift first anaon. Get decent lifts then cut.

Cutting on 1500kcal 130p/110c/58f with IF 6 days a week with one carb refeed day with 2200kcal keeping all macros except for carbs the same. Losing faster than I expected, upper abs already visible when I flex.

Keep cutting until you reach around 10-12% body fat and then start trying to gain muscle from there, thats a much better base and puts your body in the optimal state to build muscle, you don't want to "bulk" when you're clearly above 20% bodyfat already you will just get fatter and feel like shit about yourself/lose motivation. Much easier when you can physically see the changes in your body as you gain muscle due to your leanness instead of just hoping its there once you lose all the fat.

I am fat and look like this. But i am lifting much more then you.
120 squat for 5
140 dead for 5
Ohp 60kg ×8
Bench 110 ×8

Get to around my level before you cut imo. I barely have muscle so just think how you will look...

I am 102kg 6 foot 1 for reference.

This is very slow progress, but it is a progress. You are eating more than you think.
Get some Iodine, fix your macro ratios, refeed and then come back for help on how to really cut.

Ogus is a fraud, minimal doses, but still a fraud.

1600 is far too low, try to figure out your maintenance and subtract 500 from that, i'm at 200lbs too and my maintenance is about 2800 so 2300 would be a good starting point if i was to cut. 1600 will just leave you feeling like shit all the time, no energy for gym to keep your strength gains, you will lose a significant amount more muscle by the end of your cut as well. Sure it will allow you to reach your "goal" weight a couple weeks sooner but it's not worth it at all when you look at the negatives.

This isnt broscience. While you might build muscle underneath a heavy bulk or higher fat base you can pretty much assure faster lean gains (aka aesthetics) when your body adapts to increased calorie intake after a period of cutting. What looks better, a lean 165lbs with 15% bodyfat going up to 170lb 19% or 185lb at 23% going down to 180 at 19%?

Will there be a difference?

Everyone who eventually lifts for the first time notices you can easily gain a lot of muscle while losing a shitload of fat untill you start reaching heavy weights such as 2 plate bench 3-4 plate deads 1 plate ohp.

I have never had to say this unirongically before but do you even lift?

2000 with 5 days walking 15k at job and 3 days lifting. Down 6kg in 11 weeks, 3 to go for 22 BMI and then i'll think about maintenance or potentially adding those last 3 back on a clean bulk
