Brehs, can i make it with dumbbells only or do i have to drop shekels on more equipment or ride every day 40 fucking minutes to the gym?

I suppose out depends on what your idea of "making it" is, but you can make decent gains with dumbbells only.

They are excellent, and last at least a year. After that, you'll get some issues with either

A: The rubber at the inner parts starts wearing down, making the whole thing a bit worse.

B: If you didn't tighten hard enough, the fact you constantly have to tighten between reps a little bit.

Still totally worth, and if you do basic stuff to just look good it's 100% worth. I quit my gym membership and use up to 60kgx2 dumbells. Keep in mind you need the 10kg plates as a lot of 5kg plates will be almost as wide as 10kg and limit max weight.

Yeah, buy an adjustable db that can go to 50lbs, I was doing 3x8 50lbs looking like this. So by the time you're repping 50lbs you can still get a little bigger by doing 3x20 when you max the db if you ever get there

Craigslist is a good place to check for dirt cheap benches, would recommend you start there.

You can make it a massive leap of the way with just bells. The very next pieces of equipment following should be a bench (if you're dirt poor, do bench shit on the floor, but you're losing some range of motion) and some kind of bar to do chin-ups and other shit on.

Then if you have the room and $$$, get a barbell and rack for the home. Then you're set for life. Just don't do dumb shit solo with a bar, always get a friend to spot you. The benefit of bells is that you have to be pretty retarded to injure yourself with them. You can damage the floor if you puss out, but that's better than being trapped under a bar.
