>can perform dips with 110% bodyweight
>can't benchpress 80% of bodyweight
your dip station is higher than the bench station. gravity plays a part in this that's why it's important to have all exercise equipment on the same level
>>37765462
different grip width
maybe your dip form is shite
>>37765462
depending on your form, you might be using more lower chest and using a short ROM, essentially you're doing a decline bench press. also, why are you holding a 20lb dumbbell when you do dips? I wouldn't use weight until you can add 45lbs for 10+ reps.

This, most likely lower range of motion
Dips don't train the front delts, so your delts might be weak
ive never done dips in my life and i just benched 235 for a single at 160 lbs
>>37766256
nice, when I weighed 160 my bench pr was closer to 185.
>>37766278
im only 5'7, my 160 is probably a bit different than yours
>can squat 300% bw
>can pectoral fly 150% bw
>can deadlift 100% bw
>can only bench 50% bw

Whats wrong with weighted dips? I can do 25 dips, so I feel I should up my weight like I would with anything else?

absolutely nothing. I do weighted dips with 45 lbs, 4x10 and have never had an issue they are the best chest exercise imo.

you are literally grinding away your shoulder joints on every rep
I weigh 78 kilos 172lbs.
I bench 82kilos 176lbs
I do 8 reps dips with one kilo added.

>>37765609
>I wouldn't use weight until you can add 45lbs for 10+ reps
Am I reading this wrong or are you telling people to do dips with no weight added until they can suddenly jump to 45 lbs for 10+ reps?
Treat dips like any other lift. Increase the weight progressively, as you're able to.
