Fat patients are the absolute worst... you just know that you have to expend 3x the amount of energy and effort in order for them to be as clean as a normal person. I wouldn't believe that someone would willingly choose to shit themselves in a diaper opposed to walking to the bathroom, but I've had patients do that. I had an extremely circular woman (350 lbs approx) as a resident do that, she didn't help with anything, acted like a complete baby and made me do everything for her, didn't even help with rolling over when me and the two other cnas had to change her whenever she shit herself. One day her husband comes in to visit her, yells at her a whole bunch for being lazy until she literally just gets up out of bed and waddles over to the giant reinforced commode and goes back, with no help needed even getting up. I had no idea she could move, she never even rolled over in bed by herself. These are the people healthcare workers are breaking their backs for.
