All I know that for me personally, after unracking the bar I literally let it sink for a good 2-3 cm, which is caused by me letting the entire weight rest solely on my shoulderblades.
This brings them in pretty much perfect position.

And from there I only lose it over high rep sets.

They were stronger, more helpful, and they spent more time talking about training in between the banter

A lot of the new trips are very similar to the instasync crew that came in and made this place quicker and more annoying

As for cutting once you hit 1,100, I wouldn't worry about it. Your BMI is just about normal for your height/weight - cutting too soon after securing your strength could just set treading water and turning your wheels.

Give it a good 6 or so months of training before you worry about slimming down. I remember Boardie posting some essay by a dude explaining why it's best to work in blocks like that:

A highly qualified person's opinion on my hip fuckery is that it's primarily wear and tear exacerbated by inconsistent training (because of exams and shit). Feels good and bad that he doesn't think there's an actual underlying problem.

That's how I want to handle it from now on. I've just been working down from 430 pounds and I was sick and tired of being fat-as-fatass. I guess you could say dropping from 345 to 220 in 5 months is a fast cut, right?

As an aside, I've seen you espousing face-pulls for fixing posture. Do you recommend volume work at moderate weights or intensity? Or should I try and do a mixture of both - start with linear progression to get to a heavy 3x5 face pull and then work on the 8-12 rep range?

I just sort of slapped together a modular mace. I found a 14 pound 1" barbell on Amazon for $30 - if you already have some 1" plates lying around you can just wing it.

You really only need to be swinging around 25 pounds for the conditioning, though working toward that fabled 100 kg mace swing sounds like fun.

I would say yes despite not having any scientific peer reviewed studies from the Hubble Space Telescope to back it up.

It is incredibly effective at warming up your rotator cuffs, and I'm sure there is a flexibility and strength Improvement as well. Many of the big benchers that I know swear by it, but I think it could help in the squat too if you have frequent bicep inflammation or shoulder inflammation from low bar squat
