my lower back hurts when doing ab work (plank, leg raises, bicycles, any of them)
the same area also hurts when walking or standing for a long time. is my shit fucked and how do I fix it ?

Bums probably weak giving you APT
>>37680315
not OP but I have a similar problem to his. I assume APT = anterior pelvic tilt?

weak abs
do your ab work properly. if your lower back hurts its because its overcompensating for your abs
>>37680335
how do I work my abs if my back overcompensated for my abs?
>>37680361
well most likely you're doing exercises that are too difficult for your level or you're going full retard, aiming for a specific number of reps or time without thinking about your form or feeling the contraction in your abs
just make sure you're flexing your abs and you feel the burn in your abs. stop if you feel your lower back getting sore and flex your glutes to put yourself into posterior pelvic tilt
Do planks even do anything? It just seems way too easy

>feel the burn in your abs. stop if you feel your lower back getting sore
I've been trying to do that. but I always feel the pain in my back before the burn in my abs. feels like a catch 22

try easier exercises. planks on your knees, make sure to flex your glutes.
and check if your posture is ok, you might have anterior pelvic tilt
>>37680445
try ab wheels
I had this issue. Fix your posture and continue doing ab exercises. I no longer have any pain.

It works the stabilizers as far as I can tell, and loosens your hip flexors.

>you might have anterior pelvic tilt
he absolutely has this. anyone with 'lower back pain' most likely has this

Maybe he doesn't have weak abs but a weak back and he needs to build his back so he can work his abs...
