How much time do you guys spend on 4chan?
I spend much more than id like to admit, I spend all my freetime on here.
We talk a lot about muscle gains but what about life gains? How can we quit the greatest obstacle I'm sure not only in my path, but in many others here's path to success? - How can we quit coming here?

I quit entirely for a couple years when captcha was first introduced. Now everywhere seems to have captcha though so I guess I got used to it.
I'm here for 10-11 years and always come back after quitting for some months.

download an add-on called leechblock for firefox
put in 4chan and every other website you waste time on and want to quit
set when to block to: all day

24/7 block is going full retard... you can set it to allow yourself 30 mins and then it blocks the site.. depends on how bad you wanna quit

The problem I had when I tried to quit was there was legitimate leisure time at the end of the day where I wanted to visit and it wouldn't get in the way of anything
I ended up using chrome extensions and apps to block all social media and leisure sites from midnight until 6pm, so I can still go when I'm done at the end of the day but not when I'm supposed to be living life

I've been coming here for about 9 years now. This place really has changed me though. I'm now somewhat fit, I'm fine with seeing someone get their head cut off, I like T H I C K chicks, and I'm somewhat more autistic than I was before coming here.
Its true I have made some friends here, but I need to stop coming here so much. I feel like I could have gotten a better gpa if I didn't get on 4chan so much.

I come here less and less often.
I used to worry that I'd never be able to leave, but then I started just taking other interests. This is the first time in like a week that I've been on the site. I wasn't trying to stop or anything, it just didn't cross my mind.
I replaced 4chan with podcasts and blogs and real life interaction with friends. That's how you escape.

Once you actually get your psyche in order you'll realize you don't actually have to quit your vices to be healthy and happy. But once you've oriented your outlook in a healthy and balanced way you will naturally visit 4chan less because you'll have other things to do. It's not easy though.
Honestly my advice for just about everyone on 4chan is to get the book "The Feeling Good Handbook" by Dr. David Burns and to see a therapist if you can afford one. If you hate the therapist then get a new one but always continue with the book. Almost everyone here suffers from self-defeating attitudes addressed in the book like:
"I need the approval of others to be happy"
"My happiness is not in my control"
"I am basically defective and inferior to other people"
"I'm hopeless and bound to feel depressed forever because the problems in my life are impossible to solve"
etc.
The book will teach you how to identify the bad patterns in your thought. It's not hard and it will change your life.

I don't really know how to answer this. I wouldn't admit that I go here at all, except for maybe two old friends which I discovered /b/ with pretty much exactly ten years ago during our teens. I wouldn't tell anyone else because this is truly a cesspool of absolute garbage and I couldn't admit to that I like it with my dignity intact.
I don't want to quit though, I find that it's the best way to get a first hand source of what lies behind the fact that the internet is such a shithole, and an understanding for all the "internet hate" and trolls that mainstream media go on about. I'm here several hours every single day and have been for years, and I don't mind it.

The whole point of my post is that you're still allowed to enjoy certain things if you have your shit together. I've been online for about 45 minutes and I'll be getting off soon to work on my class. In fact one of the points Burns makes is that "Should" statements are self defeating--telling yourself you "Shouldn't be on 4chan" is just going to make you stay on 4chan longer the same way children do the things they're told not to. Simply say to yourself, "I am on 4chan and want to do something else" and you'll leave.

I quit a few years ago when I was really questioning who I was becoming. I was trying to change myself for the better. 4chan was a part of my life I was trying to leave behind because it was encouraging old habits.
A few months ago I came back out of curiosity. It's like seeing an old friend. They changed too, but there is still that old familiar feeling. Like I belong here. Like this is the one group of people who actually understand me. I have people I'm close with now d my family understands me better because I've improved my communication skills, but not like 4chan does.

I don't really regret it at all. 4chan has been a real eye opener for me. You learn some real shit about life when every human on earth comes together in a consequence free environment and can say whatever they want.
Besides, I'm on 4chan at times where I would just be watching TV or reading a book or something, just chilling. So whether I had 4chan or not, I'd still be chilling. The only reason to quit 4chan would be if you were going on, instead of going out and living life socially.
