How do you eat before and after gym or do you eat at all?
I was wondering if I should drink coffee and whey pre-workout and eat oats with whey post-workout.
And after that post-workout meal, when is your next meal?
I have been intermittent fasting for years so I'm kind of lost.

I got up 15 min ago at 5:30 and took two caffeine pills, brushed my teeth etc. waiting for them to kick in so I can shit then go to the gym at 6. I do it 6 times a week. I like getting something accomplished first thing in the morning, and it's way less crowded then after 5pm when I get off work.

i always look forward to lifting and i personally love to eat.

by lifting in the morning i get my shit done in the gym and whenever i eat a meal afterwards i think how awesome it is that i get my gains in. may sound stupid, may sound dumb but yeah, that's what i do & it makes me feel really good and comfortable. also i feel a lot better after working out, like every part of my body feels awesome and blood circulation is way better, but that also could be imagination.

always remeber, there's no perfect time for lifting, try stiff out and go for the way which is the best for yourself, peace out.

I have a personal gym at my family's warehouse. Has bumper plates, normal metal plates, 2 barbells, squat rack, bench rack, dip area, built in pull-up area into the whole cage, Dumbbells, bands for stretching, jump rope, heavy bag chained to the rafters, boxing gloves, tractor tires.

Work out at night because it make me sleep super comfy. I do yoga and some calisthenics as soon as I'm up though, if I do it at night it tends to keep me awake. Also feels great getting those muscles stretched out in the morning from last nights hard work.
I tried lifting in the morning but the fucking gym is packed and takes forever to get an open rack due to most folks coming in groups.

Not him, but the advantages a treadmill offers over running is being able to control your environment (temperature, wheather, etc), having perfect control of your speed, and being able to tackle different inclination whenever you feel like it.

In the end it's just cardio, it's not like it ruins you l ike other machines would.

I started doing cardio in the mornings but since I'm a government contractor, I have to get up at 430am to make it to the gym before work.
It makes me feel great for the rest of the day and I'm considering doing my lifting in the morning too but it's hard to get up so early continuously.

It all depends on you and your schedule. I hate HATE waking up early. I feel like absolute shit if I wake up before about 7 or 8; I feel groggy, dehydrated, cloudy, and it feels like my stomach is full of clay.

Early in the new year I was inspired by watching Rocky and woke up at 5 to go to the gym before work. I got up and felt like shit, then went into the gym and got through about half my workout before a coworker called me and said I had to go in early for some bullshit. Then I went in, felt like groggy shit all day, then worked out the second half after work which probably fucked me up.

I did it the rest of the week and felt like absolute trash each day. I felt like I wasn't saving time at all because I had to go to bed at like 9 to get a full nights rest instead of 11 or 12 like usual. Plus, I had to stay at my apt for about an hour before going to the gym to get my body started up so I could actually function and lift.

I actually love working out at 5:30 after work. I get anxious and restless when I sit for a long time and the gym is perfect for unloading my extra energy so I feel fresh as fuark when I get home. I feel like lifting washes away the work day so I get home and feel like a million bucks.

But it's different for everyone. Obviously, judging by this thread, we've got lots of early morning lifters.

I'm similar. I cannot fucking workout before work, my workout might be okay but once I get to work I'm done. Usually I like to come home from work, sleep for about 30 mins, then go to the gym.

I went there at 9 AM. It was nearly empty, there was only one hot girl and a milf besides me.
Had a great workout despite coming off a break.
My hunger is gone, I ate an orange and a red grapefruit post-workout. After that I had iced coffee with 50 grams of whey.
I feel good. Next time I'll try to go earlier.
