Can a poor mental state have an impact on your physique or workouts?
I'm going though some shit lately, parents are divorcing, I gotta decide which to live with, might be moving, etc. and my workouts have been terrible

depression or high stress cause low testosterone
fuckin grind man
shits always gonna happen
one thing to remember is that the gym never changes and that no matter what is happening outside of the gym just know that when you step into that gym all your irl are gone just for a bit and FUCKING KILL THOSE WEIGHTS
I KILL IT FUCK
Your mind drives everything. Not in some hippy, new-wave bullshit kinda way, but at a very real level.
Also your body doesn't differentiate well between stressors; if life is getting hard, and crazy, take care of that before you worry about 'gainz' or whatever.
Good luck fitbro.
lifting is 50% mental for me. if i don't believe i can lift it i have shit form and shake. if i believe the weight weighs nothing i have great form and fast reps.

Went through a breakup with a girl I loved earlier this year.
Poured it all into my workouts. Set PR's in BP DL SQ and OHP.
