Hello /fit/ I've decided to train punching, have you got any advices/books/tips?
Also motivation threat - pic related, it's me at 18 and then 19 when I said to myself "time to change goy". Lost 15kg, gained some muscles.

My life records:
Deep squat - 80kg
Deadlift - 100kg
Bench press - 60kg
Dips with 20kg

Anyway, here is my very own punch bag of sorts...
(2x hessien bags
2x black bin bags
Soil
Half a brick
And your good to go! Make sure you use 16oz gloves and hand wraps. Tried it the other day and hung it up on a tree in the park near and worked well. Learned to hang liberals when day of the rope comes too!

Yes. If you wanna get good find a gym and a coach. It will save you a lot of solo effort, in fact it would be very very hard to be even a half decent boxer by watching videos and punch an old bag in your garage.

This. So this. Unless you have a good coach you'll never truly understand how to snap your punches. If you want a good read, download Championship Fighting by Jack Dempsey - it is the best book I've read about how to punch.
Also, get decent gloves - Cleto Reyes, Fairtex, Winning. Protect those hands & wrists

If you want quality that is still affordable, go with Twinz.
Cleto will fuck your hands up, they're fighting gloves not bag gloves.

Winning is a bit much, but if you are serious about doing it long-term it's a good investment. Cleto is good on the bags if you get the training gloves. I like Twins, but they are a better muay Thai glove and the 16oz are like balloons.
